Howard leads the league in RBI's and is hitting somewhere around .333 with
runners on, and is up there in HR's again. There is more to stats than
just a BA.

if history continues, I dont think there will be a race, phils usually do
better after all star break..only thing different this year is they didnt
start slow.

i agree with most of your conclusions, but it may be that the mets (or even
marlins) get hot and pull away. as a braves fan, i can't seriously see ATL
hitting an extended string of quality ball without larry coming back 100%
after the ASB, tex returning to late last year's form *and* the starting
rotation growing up really quick. yeah, not likely. but not out of the
realms of possibility. barring that, i see ATL finishing 4th. 10 gb.

that does not appear to be ending anytime soon. With injuries to
their pitchers and nowhere to go but down for Utley and Burrell, the
Phils, like the Mets, should hover around .500 for the rest of the
year. Probably the same with the Braves, who will still overacheive
due to the genius of Bobby Cox. But the Mets, in the end, should
pull
it out largely in part to the pitching of Johann Santana - look for
him to clutch it down the stretch.

I put more confidence in John Maine Santana is overrated
and Pedro will eventually return to form but after his injury i dont
think it will be in 2008
