I'm a Phillies phan. What injuries to the Phillies pitchers do you refer?
There are no "key" Phillies pitcher injured.
Secondly, there is no such thing as "the genius of Bobby Cox". Bobby Cox or
any manager have little bearing on a team's W/L record. Many people thought
that the Braves former pitching coach Leo Mazzone was the secret to the
Braves success. He booked to Baltimore a several years ago and the Orioles
continued their slide. Leo is gone from coaching but, John Smoltz, Tom
Glavine, and Greg Maddux remain. The teams success hinges on the performance
of the players. I've proven that many times on the Phillies NG---believe
me, you don't want to go there. That goes for your Mets, Braves, and the
Phillies. What makes you think that Santana won't sustain an injury? I
believe the Phillies will finish first but, NOT without a struggle from the
NL east and the remainder of the league. >> Stay informed about: Predicted final NL East Standings |

I like your analysis. However the Mets just don't have it this year.
Even if they end up in a the post season, they'll flop. >> Stay informed about: Predicted final NL East Standings |

I'm a Mets fan, but I agree with your point about the importance or,
rather, lack of importance of the manager. A manager is important,
but the bottom line is the team needs talented players who play the
game hard.
I was appalled at the way the Mets management treated Randolph. >> Stay informed about: Predicted final NL East Standings |

I don't think so. Howard's career BA was over .280 before this season
and he's now hitting .219. What, we're supposed to believe in the
"Heilman and Santana are 2nd half pitchers" thing instead?

Some interesting dreaming going on there brother or some drug taking effect
I am not sure.
The Phills usually do good after the ASB and since they didn't have their
usual slow start they should win the division.
Their slow start was their inter league play, OUCH is the only word to
discribe those games.
We'll see in October.
