Could some one explain why the Twins will have to play the Yankees?

Division Winners:
New York (best record division winner)
Oakland (division winner)
Minnesota (division winner)
Boston or Seattle (wildcard)

I thought that the Best record always play vs the wildcard team, meaning New
York would play Boston or Seattle. Whereas Minnesota would play Oakland (a
better matchup).

You cant play the wildcard if they are in your division. Thus the best team
has to play the "second worst" of the playoff teams - the Twins.

Look at it this way...Twins will need to beat New York to get to the World
Series. Historically, good teams don't fare that well in short series.
Radke, Santana, Rogers...any questions? Kyle Lohse game 4.

Agreed. Looks like the rotation will be Santana, Radke, then either Rogers
or Lohse. there has been lots of talk about a 3 man rotation...

Why, when the Twins can do it? No, really. I think the Twins can beat the
Yankees. The Twins aren't the same team who played the Yankees earlier this
year. They're better. And the Yankees aren't playing as well as they were
earlier, either.
