Yeah, right.

The A's actually had the nerve to send out their 2009 season ticket
renewal information yesterday.

As if I am going to pony up for season tickets when the damn owner
can't even pony up to give his team a chance at the playoffs.

Forget it, Lew.

The A's need to give me a reason to spend money on them. The days of
blind faith in your team are over, especially today in an economy that
is tenuous at best. When the defending Stanley Cup champion Detroit
Red Wings don't even have a waiting list for season tickets, you know
times have changed.

So why should I give you my money, Mr. Wolff? I'd like a detailed
response to my inquiry, as a "shareholder" in your organization/
business. If I don't give you my money -- and other like-minded fans
do the same -- how will you fund your team? Out of your own, plenty-
deep pockets?

Why should I spend my hard-earned money when you don't spend yours?

I decided to email my thoughts to the A's. I went to their web site
and when I tried to submit the form got a message saying "unable to
process". I then remembered the same thing happened last year. Obviously
they do not want to hear from us.

They hear it at the box office, when they average 4,000 paying fans a
game.

Then, they use it as an excuse to move to a more lucrative market.

THAT would be good business sense, so maybe that's what they're up to.
They must have realized that they have no chance to be lucratively
successful in Oakland/Bay Area, so they're going to move.

This sucks.

It is a lucrative market. It was a lucrative market when the team was good
(88-90) and fans could invest emotionally with the team knowing that the
good players were going to be a round a while. But Jesus Mary and Joseph,
that was so long ago now. Since then we have seen the OAKLAND COLISEUM
ripped to ribbons with Mt Davis while the Giants had Bonds and Pac Bell or
whatever they call it now. The Giants with a shitty team have outdrawn the
A's, for many reasons. I still think the A's are reeling from loss of
players like Tejada and Giambi, Hudson, and more recently Haren and now
Harden and fan fave Swisher... it just keeps on this way. It's hard to stay
a fan if they don't care to keep the players why should the fans keep the
team?
