Twins 16-14
White Sox 14-15
Royals 14-16
Native Americans 14-17
Tigers 14-18

I like this much, much better than being tied for the lead while sitting on
..500. And I honestly think every day they lead the division -- and every
day they're over .500, for that matter -- is an accomplishment for this
team, yes even in May... I still can't quite figure out how they've been
able to pull off even this modest degree of success... guess it helps that
Mauer and Morneau have been on fire...

BTW, KC at 14-16 seems remarkable as well, they're even worse than the Twins
offensively and decent but not great pitching... but man they sure shut
down the Injuns this weekend...

The Twins are doing things the way they always have...by playing
small ball, and giving talented, but raw, young guys a shot. At the same
time, their longer term talent projects (Mauer, Morneau, Baker, etc.) all
seem to be coming into their own.

It's not a recipe for a championship team, but it is exactly the right
recipe for them to earn their nickname of "The Piranhas". One little
bite at a time.

The Royals have better pitching than you give them credit for, IMO.

In fact, the only team in the division that has horrible pitching right now
is the Tigers. Imagine that. Wink

I haven't been watching as closely this year but I was wondering if a
good part of their success can be atributed to Mauer and Morneau's
hitting better so far this year than last?
