"Democracy is a system of government by which political sovereignty is
retained by the people and exercised directly by citizens. In modern
times it has also been used to refer to a constitutional republic
where the people have a voice through their elected representatives."
But obviously you're a loudmouth with more interest in being a jackass
than having a real discussion. Whatever. >> Stay informed about: Petition to impeach Obama, if he wins the election |

You're very snide, but you're not saying anything of value here. Use
of the word "democracy" is common when referring to the US. That
doesn't mean people who use it that way confuse our system of
government with the democracy of ancient Greece.

You're wrong. It's possible to understand what form of government we
have and still call it a democracy. Nothing ignorant about it. It's a
common usage and there's nothing wrong with it. Making a big deal
about it is kookie. We have a representative democracy. End of story. >> Stay informed about: Petition to impeach Obama, if he wins the election |

"only an idiot" - you got that right. But he won't get it.

You don't want go down this road, do you? Oh, "x-no-archive:yes" so
clearly you don't.
"I would much prefer to [give a speech in a foreign country]
as president of the United States rather than as a candidate
for the office of the presidency."
- John McCain, apparently forgetting that he gave speeches in
Colombia and Mexico as a candidate for the office of president
"My opponent says the Cold War ended because the major nations of the
world stood together. This statement reveals a great naivete about the
world we live in. Now I may have missed some of the Cold War, I spent
five and half years of it as a guest of one of our enemies, but it seems
to me that the Cold War ended because the great democracies stood
together."
- John McCain, drawing the crucial distinction between "major nations"
and "great democracies" that shows how much more qualified he is
to be an english teacher than Barak Obama

So you quoted some other twit who failed to get it right? Wow. You are
admiting that you *knowingly* promulgate false statements and
misquotations. But then, is that surprising?

A McCain supporter calling out Obama for not voting is like a Bush
supporter accusing someone of lying. McCain hasn't even bothered to show
up for work for almost 5 full months now. How many hard-working
Americans can take a 5 month *PAID* vacation while interviewing for a
new job? And we are supposed to beleve that this guy understands
everyday Americans? What a crock.
BTW, the last bill McCain voted on was the Intelligence Overhaul bill
(commonly known as the "anti-torture bill") that McCain himself
sponsored in the Senate. He voted against it. That made him only the
second Senator in the entire history of the United States to vote
against a bill he himself sponsored. I guess he was against torture
before he was for it.
BTW, McCain also has the distinction of being the *FIRST* Senator in US
history to vote against a bill he himself sponsored when he voted
against his won immigration reform bill. McCain was opposed to a border
fence before he was for it. McCain supported a path to citizenship
before he opposed it. THe only guy who flip-flops more than McCain is
Romney which is why you bet the farm Romney will be the VP pick.

He did say that as an attempt to explain why he can't keep track of
his houses. He said it as an explanation for why it's not anything
all that important to him. Makes you wonder what other nonsense his
