This is being rumored that the Nats are discussing a 5 year deal with
Pavano. This would be big.

Why, he was an absolute bust with the Expos and is basically trying to ride
the coattails of one good season finally in 2004. He has a career record of
57 wins, 58 losses with an ERA of 4.21 and has given up 985 hits in 938
innings pitched! The last thing the Gnats need to do is sign someone who is
very likely a one-year wonder. They can do a lot better for their money
especially if they are willing to get locked into a 5 year deal! Of course
historically Washington has had a high tolerance for mediocrity when it
comes to baseball, so maybe Carl PavaNO would be a perfect fit!
