Pauley and Lester

David Pauley (6-3) beat Syracuse 9-5 thursday with 5 and 2/3 innings of
work. Pauley surrendered 1 run on 5 hits. He walked 5 and fanned 4. Pauley
got out of bases loaded jams in the first and second innings before settling
down to retire 10 of the last 12 he faced. Craig Hansen labored through the
seventh, giving up 3 runs (2 earned). Bryan Corey and Travis Hughes mopped
up. It was a big offfensive night for third baseman Joe McEwing. "Super Joe"
had 4 hits, including a double and a home run. Alex Prieto added 3 hits and
3 RBI. The Sox banged out 16 hits en route to their 40th win. Tonight
(Friday) it will be Jon Lester (3-4) - from the team site.

What's up with Hansen this season? It seems as if everytime I hear him
mentioned,
he's having a tough time down at Pawtucket.
