I mean, think about it. 2000...the reigning Vice President and global spokesperson, Al Gore, part of what is seen by most as a very successful administration, going up against a bumbling fool, George W. Bush, and Gore cannot even win his home state and loses the election (yes, he did in fact lose). Then in 2004, an unpopular and still bumbling fool, George W. Bush, up against a certifiable war hero, John Kerry....the economy was struggling, the war was unpopular, and yet Kerry cannot beat Bush. If, with the uber-popular Barack Obama going up against someone seen as being part of the Bush government with a comical sidekick, with the war issues and the dreadful economy....I mean, if the Democrats cannot win this election, what possible hope is there for them?
