So ... Vladimir Putin conducts one-man invasions into the United
States? Palin didn't elaborate on the type of plane Putin supposedly
flies but I'm sure she would fill us in if we ever get the chance to
ask her.

Here's Palin's complete quote from the Couric interview:

"As Putin rears his head and comes into the airspace of the United
States of America, where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over
the border. It is from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that
an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because
they are right there, they are right next to our state."

She REALLY should've taken the high road - and admitted she was joking.
The whole thing would've just blown over with nothing more said.

But instead, she tries to play it off as if Alaska has been fending off
invasions.
