Have you guys forgotten about the Chicago Cubs? 99 years without a
championship, the longest such drought in American pro sports. ANY
sport. They haven't even played in a World Series since 1945, and
haven't won one since 1908.

The Pirates have won the World Series four times since then. The Cubs
are the most futile franchise in pro sports.

But the Cubs have had a winning season or 2 in the last 15 years; the
Pirates with their cheap-assed owners have not.

I don't know if you guys have noticed or not, but the Pirates haven't
had a winning season since letting Baroid Balco walk as a free agent
after the 1992 season.

And you're right, the Cubs have been above .500 six times since then,
BUT they have still gone 62 years without a World Series appearance,
99 years without a World Series victory. And Tampa Bay hasn't won more
than 70 games in a season in the entire history of that franchise!

But they have "hope" of winning because they don't have Bob Nutting as their
owner. As long as Nutting owns the team, we will close in on the Cubs and
the Rays' futility.
