Probably a move to be able to bring them to Spring training under a minor
league contract.

Whatever contract they are under is still in force. They have 72 hours to
accept the assignment, or opt for free agency. It also means they cleared
waivers and no one claimed them. I'm thinking they're done on the major
league level as far as the Nats are concerned, Spring invite or not.
I always thought Brandon might have a future....

Are you sure? I can't imagine that Watson, Booker, or Munoz have enough
Major League time to be a free agent.

Moving these guys off the 40 man probably means that some moves are in
the works. Now, who on the Reds will join us?

I didn't get too far into it, but Brandon's contract is over anyway, and
he's already been outrighted, refused and chose free agency last year. You
can only outright a player once without his permission.

Here's a site to the Nats' contracts, but without all the transaction
details.

Still suspicious of Bowden, eh Sage?

Why be suspicious? Just because every other player is a former red? I'll
bet that the percentage is much higher in front office.
