Adding another pair of relievers, the Baltimore Orioles reached
preliminary agreements with Chad Bradford and Scott Williamson on
Tuesday and also neared a deal to re-sign first baseman Kevin Millar
and add backup catcher Paul Bako.
Bradford will get a $10.5 million, three-year contract and Williamson
will get $900,000 for one year. The agreements were confirmed by a
person familiar with the deals who spoke on condition of anonymity
because they had not been finalized.
Millar and the Orioles were close on a $2.75 million, one-year
contract. The deal would also contain an option for 2008 that could
become guaranteed based on plate appearance next year.
Bako's deal would be for $900,000 and would give him the chance to
earn $150,000 more in performance bonuses.

Millar batted .272 with 15 homers and 64 RBIs for the Orioles this
year. Bako hit .209 with 10 RBIs in 153 at-bats with the Kansas City
Royals.
Yup ........ getting set to go head to head with the Yankees and Red
Sox. Playoffs are almost guaranteed.
