Known Quantity = another Injury prone, contract stifling waste of
money in the Bobby Higginson tradition. I'll wait for our "next
superstar" centerfielder who is already in the system.

hey, Einstein! Higginson is NOT a Hall of Fame ballplayer...

well, again, calling Griffey "broken down" isn;t going to help your
credibility. Bottom line, however, is that only three guys have a say in
what deals the Tigers will make. I *suspect* they aren't going to stand pat,
like they did last year, but they ain't gonna mortgage the entirew future
either.
Griffey may be available for less than you think, for the reasons I
explained earlier. I'd explore the possibilities, but, as I said, I ain't
one of the three who has any influence...

yeah, I already grasp the concept. Any player on any other team, for you,
the glass will always be half empty. Griffey is 37, and doing fine. Perhaps
he's past being "injury prone" (I prefer to see it as rotten luck). He AIN'T
Higginson.
Paul Molitor hit .341, with 113 RBI at age 40...

Higgy and Griffey were both steroid freaks.

So what. You wan't to pay Hall of Fame money to a player who, odds
favor is just one game away from another DL stint. Besides, He will
sign again with Seattle depriving You and the Tigers of a stupid
mistake.
