Why on the tigers web site is Omar listed as an outfielder?

I like it if he doesn't do well --- if the AL wins. I like that people
might not take him seriously.
I was just thinking --- related to the HR Derby --- what was the best
homerun in the last year. For me, Maggs against Oakland, on the way to
the World Series.

I was intrigued to hear on the All Star telecast that Griffey may be
available before the trade deadline. I'd take him in a New York second. And,
with the age factor, it would be more resonable to treat him as an interim
player than it would someone like T. Hunter, who might be on hte FA market
at the end of the year. Yep! Trade for Griffey, than make him a resonable
offer for two more years, and maybe a third year option. And, yes, I would
expect Granderson to bow when Griffey enters the clubhouse and say, "yes
sir, Mr. Griffey, I will gladly move to left field"...
(at least for the remainder of this season)

noooooooooo. You ain't gonna have an ounce of credibility implying that
Griffey is a defensive liability. DO also note that I said Granderson moves
to left "at least for the remainder of this season." Beyond that, where
Griffey would play would be part of any contract negotiations they might
engage in. BUT, be realistic. Compare Griffey's number's to Monroes. It is a
BIG step up, and worth looking into IF he is, indeed, available.

btw, his trade value is diminsihed by the fact that it's suspected that the
Reds don't intend to re-sign him, plus the fact that he can veto a trade.
Often, given those circumstances, the team will take a 'something is better
than nothing' approach. Personally, I'll take the known quantity over
waiting for "the next superstar" any day.
