C.C. Sabathia is now a Milwaukee Brewer, and according to his pitching
schedule, he should be starting Tuesday.

Matt LaPorta is now a Cleveland Indian, along with another player that
should be named within the next 24 hours.

From what I've just heard, it's Matt LaPorta and two lower-level A ballers.
I can live with that, but losing Sabathia and Sheets after the season is
going to be one helluva tough pill to swallow. What will the rotation be
next year? Two studs, two duds, and an unknown. Gallardo (stud), Parra
(stud), Soupan (dud), Bush (ditto), McClung (has potential, but the jury's
still out).

Linebrink all over again.
Trade three possibly long MLB career players away for a two or three
months of pitching.

Get rid of that drunk in the front office before no one is left in AAA
*AND* AA ball.

What do we need Laporta for when he plays LF and we just signed Braun for a
good 7 years? No loss there...the other A ball players..who knows...only
time will tell. But it's a no brainer and a win-win for both teams if all
players turn out good.

We don't need LaPorta. He's a defensive liability, and only time will tell
if he can rake in the majors. Regardless, he's more suited for the American
league.
We also don't need Zach Jackson, who was most likely not going to crack the
rotation anytime soon. Pitcher Rob Bryson was also part of the deal, but I
don't know anything about him so I can't comment.

I don't mind this deal. If the rent-a-player gets us to the post-season for
the first time in more than 25 years, then we've made progress. If we don't
make the playoffs, then we press on. I have to give Melvin credit for
trying. It's nice to be in the position we're in, having a ton of talent in
the minors. Much respect to Jack Z and Gord Ash for building up the minors
the way they have!

Tribe fan here, and no troll.
Good luck in the NLCD.

One thing to consider, is that CC can hit the ball.
I'm not that familiar with the Brewers hitters,
but I doubt that CC will be the worst hitter in
the lineup any night that he pitches.

I wouldn't count on many triples, though..

Thanks, Steve-O.

Maybe CC can show Sheets how to hit.

Good luck with the prospects. Everybody wins!
