>From 1923 thru 1943, from Babe Ruth thru Joe DiMaggio
the NYY won every World Series, most of them in sweeps.

There was a lull from 1944-1948; then, under Casey Stengel
they ripped off another streak, 1949-1967, Phil Rizzuto, Eddie Lopat
Maris and Mantle et al. There was serious talk of dismantling
MLB and starting over.

Then from 1968 thru 1975, the Yanks failed to win a pennant.
But with the advent of George Steinbrenner, 1976 thru 2003
gave us 28 Series wins in a row for the Bombers.

If the Red Sox had not broken this pattern, the plans were drawn
to scrap all of baseball, everywhere. Thank you, 2004.

Joe Torre has failed toget his club back since 2003; for this
utter breakdown, Steinbrenner has humiliated Joe Torre with
bullying and threats. Finally, the axe was levelled yesterday.

Joe Torre is gone; baseball struggles to survive.
