Brian Bass does not belong in a 0-0 game.

Matt (sorry if double posted)

Yeah, I think this has been pretty well covered... unless it's the 14th
inning and Crain, Breslow, Reyes, and Nathan have already done their bit...
it isn't Bass time.

I'm guessing Gardy learned his lesson.

I totally agree. Why bring a rookie (Bass) with a 4.50 ERA into a
situation he's never been in (in Fenway Park, mind you) in a 0-0 game
instead of a veteran (Crain) who has a 2.80 ERA?

And how about this? Boston has a runner on third with 1 out in a 0-0
game. Don't you give Manny Ramirez an intentional walk and set up a
double play? Two gaffes in 1 inning for Gardy.

It wasn't his finest hour.
