Playing CF is a joy. A CF always has the right of way - no doubt. That's
what makes an Aaron Rowand.
Thome has slammed thirty-three HRs a year so far. I've watched Rowand a bit,
and he an average hitter with a tinge of power.
It's guys like Rowand that you want to get on base for the "Thome(s)".
I wouldn't under-rate Swisher or even Anderson to give it all on a long
drive.
The advantage of instinct and speed goes to Rowand. But every CF has his
day.
Thome alone can demoralize a team - kind of like Boog Powell used to.

Aaron - like Pods, has served their purpose. They were both a joy to watch,
but I think there's a special allegiance between Thome and Chicago.
I'm sure that he probably would have preferred to play for the Cubs, but
he's homegrown into the A.L. We'll see what injuries he might sustain this
season, but I wouldn't be so pessimistic. At 39 (my guess), he's still quite
resilient.

Maybe Griffey back in '05 or are you talking about Sweeney?
Thome knows his roots. There's something special about that.....

For sentimental reasons I can agree and pitcher's do need to have confidence
in their fielders.
Sometimes Dye even makes some superb plays. I'm impressed with both outfield
corners. I see the outfield as well balanced.
Id I were Ozzie, I might bring Owens up for late inning D - if he's yet
healthy..
