Three cheers from me for being the first other INTP I've seen, and one
of the quiet, unassuming Midwestern teams, all of whom seem to wear at
least some red. The LaRussa Cardinals would be a good fit, but he's
too extroverted. I'll say Cincinnati, but you can have Cleveland if
you want (like that's even in question).

When I picked my favourite NHL team as a boy, my father was a Chicago
fan, and there was a guy from here, Al MacNeil (later the coach of a
Stanley Cup Champion Canadiens team) on that team. The Red Wings had a
guy from here, Parker MacDonald, who played on the same line with Howe
and Delvecchio, and was in high school with my mother. My reasoning at
the time was that someone from the same family had to root for them,
for balance.
Parker MacDonald's nephew now cuts my son's hair...can you believe it?

My brother who is six years younger also is a RW fan, big time, and he
basically went that way because I was a RW fan. My other brother, 9
years my junior, is a Bruins fan (I think I was gone to university
when he made that choice). We should start telling him that he's
adopted , because nobody from here has ever played for the Bruins
(although I think Bronco Horvath did, and he worked at our local
university as their hockey coach...again, I think).
Note that we all root for original 6 teams. There were definitely only
6 choices for me (early 60's) but I don't remember what the situation
was for my younger brothers.

So do you remember the final of 1960-61? Chicago/Detroit? That would
have been fun in your house. That's the first Cup we remember.

Cool. I'm an INTP George guy, and already a Cardinals fan, so the team
works for me, but Tony's gotta go. I can handle the extroversion, but not
the lineup selection.

I agree with Craig on this one. The two other teams that are close would be
the Cubs and Brewers. But, the Cubs are slightly more of an extroverted
team now with Dusty and Sam-me. The Brewers fit everything else, but the
John Lennon thing just doesn't work. I think you'd have to be a Ringo fan
to follow the Brewers these days.

I'm also an INTP and I've had a very happy baseball life following the
Cardinals. Except for this year, of course, when they choked, choked,
choked.
I somewhat agree with Craig on the call. IMO, the Reds would be in the
running, although your Indians affiliation may prevent you from enjoying
them. During the Schott era, they were more of a TJ or FJ team, but now
they're far more unassuming and looking for steady improvement. ISTP would
work best with the Reds right now. Obviously, Red works with the Reds and
any of the Beatles except John.
The Cards work well with George or John, maybe Paul in a pinch. They're a
whiny bunch these days, though. And LaRussa seems more like an ESTJ to me.
Given that, I think the best team for Julie is--- the Indians. If she liked
McCartney, then I would have steered her toward the Angels.

Based on my own perceptions, and not any test...
ESTP (E on the border, the others not), Paul, Red-Blue tie
I already have 3/5 letters from the Expos in ESTP, and red and blue
are Expo colours, I have my answer.

It's just that INTPs are lurkers.

So, it's like... destiny?
When people mock me for my team's losing ways, I can gaze upon them
pityingly and say, "You who mock fate are tempting the galactic
wedgie"?
Or something?
Neat!

We could form a small, exclusive club. Of course, being introverts,
none of us would join, but we could still form it!

If I'd liked McCartney, then I would have to defend Wings. And while
championing the underdog is rather a favorite pastime of mine, I can
only do so much.

You're pretty close to Julie's INTP, George and Red. The Indians still work
pretty well for you, too. And if your fave Beatle were Paul, I'd be
suggesting the Angels, which would be convenient for you out in Pasadena.
INTJ and Red works pretty well these days with the Astros, too, but they're
not a George team at all.
I'd steer you towards the Red Sox.
