I've been around, but I mostly lurk these days. But I couldn't resist
posting about Harmon. He was, is, and always will be my hero. Too bad
the Twins back then weren't on TV as much as they are now. I think I
only got to see him on TV four or five times a year. And we only went
to one or two games a year at the Met. I had to watch his season via
the box scores in the paper every day. It would have been nice to
actually see his 500th HR on TV.
No, I don't remember what year that was. But baseball players these
days are a whiny lot. They use any little excuse to get out of playing
in the All Star Game. "I have a little twinge in my hammy." Bah!
