Hate to say it but I dropped him just in time from my fantasy team

time. Not sure what is wrong. >> Stay informed about: Nate!?!?! |

It seems like the answer to the question "who is the 5th starter" is
changing after each rotation of the 5 guys. Right now, it is Nate. I would
have said a week ago it was Maroth. Durbin before that. My guess is that
Leyland will make the decision based on who is pitching the worst at the
time KR is ready, which is still 3-4 weeks away (hopefully only that!).
I agree about the pen last night. Grilli was really the key. He has been
pitching real good lately and Minor did well, too. Those guys gave the team
a chance, which they couldn't quite capitalize on.

Get a grip. Grilli's appeared 10 times in the past month. He allowed 3 runs
in 4 of those appearances, that is, 12 runs in 4 games, 6 innings total.
Yes, he didn't get clubbed yesterday. Hooray. And yes, he's managed to bring
his ERA under 6.00. Woo hoo. "Real good lately" is a bit of a stretch,
unless lately means last night, because he didn't get clubbed around, as per
usual. >> Stay informed about: Nate!?!?! |

Here are the stats from Grilli's last 6 appearances:
6/5 v TEX - 4.0 IP, 3 H, 0 ER
6/3 v CLE - 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 ER
6/2 v CLE - 1.2 IP, 1 H, 0 ER
5/26 v CLE - 0 IP, 3 H, 3 ER
5/23 v LAA - 2.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER
5/22 v LAA - 1.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER
Totals: 10 IP, 10 H, 3 ER
One bad outing in the last 6.

Yes, and 4 bad outing in the last 10. He gets clubbed regularly, every third
or fourth appearance at a minimum. So he's due. He has a lifetime ERA of 5
+, has given up more hits than he's pitched innings over the course of his
career, and has a sub 500 winning percentage since 2001.
But oh boy, those last three games, he's been AMAZING.

They say that Nate went through this once before with the Marlins. You gotta
remember that he threw 223.1 innings last year (including post season)

Right! and? People always hold concern when someone throws more innings than
they have ever thrown before.
