Hamilton's on the DL, with an MRI scheduled, so it looks like it might
be worse than the beat guys thought earlier in the week.

That's bad enough.

The absolute worse news is that his callup replacement is none other
than..... wait for it............... Chad Moeller.

Every GM in the league has had not one, but two cracks at scooping
him up and politely declined, and yet WK brings him up because we're
paper thin in the OF

Yeehaw.

Wonder if there is a record for a player who is DFA'ed the
most times in one season.

Chris Dickerson?
Bubba Crosby has pretty much disappeared from Louisville.

Jay Bruce got there? When did that happen. He was just promoted to the
lookouts and now he's playing for the bats? It's way too early to bring him
up.

AAA is bare in the outfield.

Yep, to me that's the right answer, expecially because he's already on
the 40 man. And sit Freel down for being Freel.

Or if you don't want to burn him, take Jeff Bannon. He's 27 and
roster fill. Bring him up and let him have a cup of coffee. He
isn't a prospect, so no harm in bringing him up to sit.

>Bubba Crosby has pretty much disappeared from Louisville.

Bubba's one of the hurt, along with Wise.

I think I saw/heard a blurb somewhere that Bruce hit a dinger last
night for his first aaa hit, and the later threw somebody out at the
plate.

Homer got roughed up pretty good, BTW.

Bruce got promoted over the break because AAA is short on OFers due to
the injuries, but I'd rather they be short than us.

There is no future for Dickerson here. He's not getting on base enough to be
a speed guy and he has no power.

Same boat as Dickerson.

I didn't know either of those. It was a shock to see Bruce in the lineup.

Yeah. I was there for the game. Just in case anybody hasn't heard me rant
about Jay Bruce. His swing is something special. He wasn't overmatched
against Chase Wright even though most of the evening didn't go his way. The
homer was a no doubter and the throw was a shock. I knew Bruce could handle
center, but I had never seen him throw a laser like that. He's a comparable
to what Kearns was in the minors.

> Homer got roughed up pretty good, BTW.
Yeah...Every time I see him pitch he has stretches where he just can't find
home plate with a cluebook and a flashlight. Last night was like that. He
sailed through the lineup...till he couldn't find home plate.

....As much as I like Bruce's future. They shouldn't have him in cincy this
year. Since Dickerson is on the 40 man roster, he would be the likely
culprit and I don't think he would add a whole lot more value to that roster
than Chad Moeller does.

other comments...

Livingston in a big boy. He's gotta be bigger than 6' 3. Santos and
Shackleford looked like midgets next to Livingston.

I don't know why tbe organization is high on Paul Janish, but they are. I
know he's a college boy who gives good quotes, but I don't see how they can
project a major league future for him. It's not like he's hitting and his
glove can't project to a major league infielder. No range at all. If you
like Aurilia or Clayton at SS, you're gonna love Janish at SS.

Oh, and while the field is nice, the folks in Louisville would do well to
come up to Dayton and take some lessons in customer satisfaction. The PA guy
was terrible and the "entertainment team" was flat and dull the entire
evening. If you're going to do that kind of stuff badly, just don't do it at
all.

Agreed. No interest in Bruce this year either. No sense in rushing
him to a last place team. Now, Votto on the other hand, should be
here the day after Hatte goes to the big apple.

Dickerson because he's on the 40 or Bannon, since I guess the
corresponding move would be EM to the 60 day dl, so wouldn't have to
take someone off. Especially if you looked at the lineup tonight and
noticed Freel at 3B and Hopper in CF, I'd think either as last guy
off bench would be better than Moeller. I know they have no future,
so it wouldn't harm them to come up here and sit for a few days.

Bannon picture looked slim, and I think they list him at 180, so I'd
guess he could be PR and do defense. That would still bring more to
the table than Moeller.

What's Votto look like?

CTR says that Livingston is official on the hill for Monday.

Speaking of SS, anything on this Gomez dude? Never heard of him
before the callup. He a PTBNL I missed?

To bad Crosby or Wise are hurt. This would be a chance to snag 10 days of
pension time.

> What's Votto look like?
Votto didn't play last night (oddly, Ryan Hannigan was the DH. Intereting
career there) I have not seen Votto this year, but he was fun to watch when
I saw him early last year and before that in Dayton. He'll struggle against
lefties, but I don't think I saw him swing and miss at a pitch from a righty
at all last year. Kind of an interesting little skill and it could have been
luck.

They brought him in after spring training. When detritus like that is on
your major league roster, your system is sparse. Why they didn't bring up
Bellhorn instead is beyond me.
