I'm not sure the Rockies were ever successfully "built" to play at Coors
Field, but one could argue that playing there was a real barrier to their
success before the humidor was used. Not only did the hitters get used to
breaking balls that broke less (still likely an issue to some degree), but
their hitters were overrated by their superficially gaudy stats and their
pitching staff was stressed by throwing so many pitches in high scoring
games. Now that the scoring is more under control and Coors is at least on
the same planet as the rest of baseball, they have a chance. Kudos to them
for taking advantage of that.
