Considering how I've loved baseball all my life, and the fact that it
took until 1993 for MLB to come to Denver; I just enjoy going to the
park, having a hotdog in one hand, and a cold beer in the other. The
only thing better for me is if I were at Wrigley doing the same. And
Coors is a nice park, and the weather out here is usually real
comfortable (as opposed to sitting in nasty humidity). If the weather
isn't too stormy tomorrow (err, I guess tonight), I'm going to go down
and enjoy a nice evening at the park again, and I know I've seen at
least 6 games this season.

Yeah; most folks say that. For me; its getting to go to the game for
a cheap price. Assuming you know (and the original poster doesn't
live here nor know); I go when I get the chance when I spend enough at
King Soopers to earn the ability to purchase $5 tickets, and I've seen
that I can get up to a $36 seat (depending on which type of game its
classified) without a surcharge for that $5. And I've noticed (not
being real surprised) that the $5 ticket offer has started earlier
than in past seasons.
For the original poster if he/she doesn't live out here--King Soopers
(which is the leading grocery chain in Colorado that is now owned by
Kroger) is a longtime sponsor of the Rockies, and if you spend $35 on
legit groceries in one visit (no tobacco, 3.2% beer, and I don't think
you can use pharmacy prescriptions either), your register receipt
prints out that you can buy up to 4 $5 tickets for "selected games".
I've never had a problem getting a ticket anytime I want to go
(although I figure the "selected" bit covers them so you can't go to
Opening Day or for the July 4 fireworks game for cheap). And if the
Rockies win; you can take your ticket stub to Dick's Sporting Goods
and get a coupon good for $10 off on any purchase of $50 or more. The
folks there told me I can combine my coupons (I've seen 3 or 4 wins
this season) with a a gift card I already have, so I'm going to go and
get a *nice* pair of athletic shoes one of these days for pretty darn
cheap (if not free)...

You got that right, Card. Or to relieve boredom/stress in some cases
(my dad has health issues that stress me), and to hang out with a
buddy at the game when we can figure out a game that works with both
of our schedules. Don't like the Cards, myself (read a couple of
lines below--and still am blown away reading that they are leaving
KMOX after this season), but as being the most adamant Cub fan in town
(I was born on the North Side of Chicago); I can't miss seeing my
beloved Cubs when they come to town. Will be interesting to see the
crowds for next weekend (considering how many Chicago transplants like
myself live in Colorado) and how they compared to when the Cards were
in (I went to one game and was shocked at how empty the park
was--considering it was a day game).

Pretty crummy; but I was surprised when I saw on TV about 10 days ago
that the Rockies actually were tied with either San Diego or Arizona
(I forget which) for the best record among the 5 NL West teams since
June 1. Rox have been better (and their home record has improved to
30-2
