It's difficult to convict someone based primarily on circumstantial
evidence. Cops either 1) get a confession; 2) get the suspect to state
details only the guilty party could know; 3) get an accomplice to turn on
the suspect (and even then you need corroboration). At least that's what
Karen told me.
