Mark Grace announces his retirement from baseball (as a player)
tonight, and I wish him well., I watched "Gracie" for many years as
a Cub (although a Yankee fan), and recall him as a player with class
in the game!

I will remember Grace mostly for his time with the Diamondbacks, and
especially the comment "I wasn't good enough to play first base for
the Chicago Cubs, but I'm good enough to play first base for the World
Champion Arizona Diamondbacks!".

Tonight he gave another statement which I believe speaks to his class:

"If I ever played WITH you, thank you, you were a GREAT teammate."
"If I ever played AGAINST you, thank you, I loved the competition"

Then ANOTHER:

"And to Chicago, for 13 yers, thank you for everything! I love you,
and all of the town!"

THANK YOU Mark, you gave us lasting enjoyment!
