MLBN in talks with Bob Costas
Network eyes sportscaster for on-air position
By MIKE FLAHERTY

The nascent Major League Baseball Network has been in talks with NBC
Sports standby Bob Costas about an on-air position starting next
season, Sports Business Daily has reported.
Although the negotiations have reportedly yet to yield an agreement,
MLBN has discussed using Costas as either a play-by-play or color man
on at least one game per week, or a panelist on its nightly in-studio
coverage.

Costas, currently anchoring NBC's "Sunday Night Football" ensemble,
has been with the Peacock for well over two decades, broadcasting
basketball, baseball, thoroughbred racing and Olympics coverage. He
also hosts a sports-mag skein, "Costas NOW," on HBO.
