It's not my nightmare. I mean really, if it's Cubs and Sox who do you
cheer _against_? Most people would want them both to win. As it
stands I, and every Expo fan in the universe can happily cheer for the
Red Sox.

Think of it this way. If the Marlins win the Series and Selig gives the trophy
to Loria you can still have the fantasy of seeing the feds come in and take
them both away for violating the RICO Act. Then they can join John Rigas
wearing an orange jumpsuit and calling their brokers from their jail cell.

I know...it's just a fantasy but seeing them do a "perp walk" on national TV
during the series is an awfully good one.

If Bud does give the trophy to Jeff, the next day someone should take
out a full-page ad in the New York Times with the picture and the
caption "Wanted for Racketeering"

I believe some fans of the hockey team that I support did that after the '99
Stanley Cup finals but with Bettman and Campbell's picture.

Hi, I"m new to following baseball and the Expos. All I keep hearing all over
Montreal from baseball fans is that everybody hates Loria, but I've not
heard why. Can somebody explain this to me?

He used to own the Expos.

Big Saviour coming into town, but he turned out to be Bud Selig's right hand
man,sold the land where a stadium could have been built, then sold the Expos
back to MLB (for a whopping profit), and bought the Marlins...leaving the
Expos with a dim outlook and no owner.
Thus once again MLB and its "Big Pigs" stick it to good ole Montreal.

Go Yankees!!

Don't forget how he gutted the rest of the fan base by not broadcasting the
games on radio and sabotaging any TV deal. Any competent businessman knows that
in order to sell your product you increase exposure. Loria made sure that
exposure was as small as possible.

Also changed his mind on demanding a retractable roof about a week before the
Parc Labatt deal was about to be signed, thus ruining the financing, thus
making the investors pull out, thus making the project valueless...thus winding
both Selig and Loria in court facing racketeering charges.

One can only hope they both will be wearing orange jumpsuits very soon. Not
likely but after seeing what happened to former Sabres owner John Rigas,
anything is possible.
