Sox looking at lefties Chris Smith (wasn't he in the organization before ?)
and Carl Sadler, a 10-year veteran, spent the past six years of his career
at or above the double-A level of affiliated ball. He appeared in 42 games
with the Cleveland Indians with a 3.60 ERA in 30 relief innings during the
2002 and 2003 seasons. Last season as a member of the Akron Aeros (AA,
Indians), he owned a 2.93 ERA and struck out 41 batters in 23 appearances.
The 28-year old began this season as a member of the Somerset Patriots and
appeared in two games >> Stay informed about: Lefty BP help |

RHP Chris Smith, 24, is currently pitching for Portland without the
success he had hoped to achieve.

I don't think Carl Sadler is related to outmaker Donnie Sadler.
They could just promote Lester and put him in the pen for the balance
of the season. Also DiNardo was doing very well in AAA as a starter,
but he easily could go back to relief. >> Stay informed about: Lefty BP help |

Apologies for the triple posting.
I don't know how that happened.

LOL. Since you learned about the 40 man roster you are obsessing over
it. It is not a factor. Are you aware that just a couple of days ago
the Red Sox claimed off waivers a pitcher named Luis Mendoza? Luis is
now on the 40 man roster. He can be removed just as quick as he was
added. >> Stay informed about: Lefty BP help |

I think that DiNardo would be the first choice, since he's already on the
40MR and would cause the least disruption. >> Stay informed about: Lefty BP help |
