Konerko was the top home run hitter in the majors a month ago and he's now
doing absolutely nothing other than wasting the number four spot in the
batting order. It's time for him to sit on the bench until he can get it
back together. It would be timely if the Big Hurt get's back soon and if
not, then maybe it's time to look for some help from either Charlotte or
Birmingham. Konerko is a fan favorite, but I've started hearing some long
overdue boos tonight. How much longer should Ozzie continue using his limp
bat?

Dye really hasn't done much either. It is amazing that we have continued to
win with the middle of the order being so unproductive. PK has a lot of RBI
for a sub-.200 average, but they both really do have to start to come on if
we are to continue to win.

Geez, if you knew anything about Konerko you'd know he is streaky as
heck. He'll hit .080 for a month, then hit .450 for a month. He'll
mostly likely end up in the .280-300 range with 35-45 homeruns and 100+
RBI. And hey, the Sox are winning with him and Dye in the "slump"
phase, what more can you ask?

And yet they keep winning! Yes, PK is very streaky. That's what makes me
wonder what can happen when PK, the Big Hurt and Dye get it together. That
and yet some continuously good pitching (as it is excellent) and the season
might be just warming up. I almost look forward to Ozzie coming off the
bench and contributing - if needed!
