Well, to be fair, it is quite a small sample and Karstens might turn out to
be a dud yet. I mean, look at the Pirates' current staff of starters? All
showed flashes of brilliance early on, and now? All show the slow burn of
mediocrity. Maholm's the only one that you could say has had a decent year
so far. Still, I bet the Yankees are grinding their teeth right now, and
that's satisfying. Even though Nady's a good pick-up, they need starting
pitching more than anything.
