Well see there's the problem; too many people were patient when they
shouldn't have been and now lacking patience when it's justified.
There's been as complete a purging of the old guard in the front
office as possible and the last 15 years is not the current group's
fault: it's water under the bridge.
It may very well be that by mid season I'll be as dismayed as you are
and the new team turns out to be as bad as the old, but they deserve
the benefit of the doubt and a chance to show what they've got.

An experienced high-paid manager isn't going to do anything either...
manager good or bad is not the Pirates' problem - lack of talent is.
The only thing that is going to help is new bodies with skills and
that is going to take some time to acquire. It might even mean some
of "our" favorites get traded to make it happen.
You can't seem to get your head around the fact that nothing is going
to turn things around in a year or two and want instant results. It's
going to be at least until June's draft until we even have any
indication whether things will improve sooner rather than later so
just sit tight and let's see what they can come up with.
If they draft another middling pitcher with the second pick overall,
I'll meet you at Nutting's office with the pitch-forks, you bring the
torches.
