You know, sometimes I forget how good he is. Think what it takes for
a catcher to win the batting title and a gold glove in the same
season. Amazing. What more could you ask for? I know Alan, more
power ; )

It is truly amazing. And yes, one can always wish for more power. I
mean, how many players in history have people remarked, "You know,
that guy just plain hits with too much power."

Seriously, I'd like to see Joe hit less ground balls and hit a few
more liners. That might get his power numbers up a smidge. It's nit-
picking, I know, but it's about the only area he needs to improve his
game.

I understand that Marilyn Monroe was a lousy cook.

On the Twins, 9 homeruns is equivalent to Babe Ruth.

No, that's 25 home runs. 30 home runs is equivalent to Barry Bonds.

I don't. It boggles my mind that the Twins have a catcher who hits
like a first baseman, and a first baseman who hits like an All Star
first baseman, and the latter is the one who wins team MVP and leads
his teammate in league MVP voting. This takes nothing away from
Morneau, nor Redmond (indeed few teams have a backup catcher as
capable), but there's a much larger dropoff if Mauer is out of the
lineup for an extended period than if Morneau is.

Deer and Kingman come to mind. Smile

Her cheesecake was renowned.

Right now Mauer and Mourneau (and to a smaller extent, Redmond...
for his intangibles) are the heart of the team, IMO.
