From today's NY Post:
---
The next issue is Manuel's coaches. None is under contract, and on
Thursday Minaya said the manager essentially can choose his staff.
"They haven't said anything about it because they're going to leave it
up to Jerry to see if he wants me back," bench coach Sandy Alomar Sr.
told The Post yesterday.
Alomar said he "would love to be back" and would be willing to serve
in whatever coaching capacity the Mets wanted. Since he came aboard
he's been a bench coach twice while also handling duties at first and
third base.
---
I think they all be back, but should they? Should the Mets bring back
JoJo after the struggles the Mets had with runners in scoring
position? Of course, there are feel good stories like Delgado, Tatis,
Church (before the injury), etc.
But what do you think? >> Stay informed about: Jerry's back, but how about the coaches? |

I think that Jerry is going to want to bring in his own staff. The
coaches seemed out of sync often after he was made interim manager.
Remember that all his coaches were holdovers or appointments made by
ownership after the Randolph axing.
I do believe that he will be required to keep Warthen and Oberkfell, but
will otherwise have free reign. Hojo is a goner. >> Stay informed about: Jerry's back, but how about the coaches? |

I hope so. It think HoJo has not helped our hitters perform in the
clutch and our 3rd base coach has no sense of when to send (or not send)
runners, and at least in one occassion, did not even get the runner
going from 1st to 2nd to look at him when he made the error to try for
third.

I've read that Manuel will be allowed to pick his own staff. >> Stay informed about: Jerry's back, but how about the coaches? |
