Atlanta Braves catcher Javy Lopez is an example of an athlete who
several years ago had a normal, even slightly chubby build. He has
trimmed down quite a bit and at the same time has put on lots of muscle
mass on his thighs, shoulders and arms.
Does anyone have a "general" idea about what kind of training regimen
can cause this type of change in body shape?
Thanks,
Sy

Yes it's called "doing steroids."

Wearing catchers' equipment during an Atlanta summer helps. >> Stay informed about: Javy Lopez-Losing weight & building muscle |

Anyone? Bert Campaneris? (OK, Bert's numbers weren't as great, but in the
context of his time, place, and established power, they were at least as
surprising.) >> Stay informed about: Javy Lopez-Losing weight & building muscle |

as this is your every day answer to this question im not so
sure if this is the case here (were not talkin bonds right?)
at least he had about six month for all this (fall to spring)
and since its easier to turn fat into muscle then gain it
skinny id say its possible that javy did this without steroids
also he didnt start hitting for power right away
those numbers came up end may iirc (correct me if im wrong)
but well never know...
perhaps someone should go and ask javy
cheers

He must be on steroids, he didn't look like that 15 years ago.

Gee. I didn't think that it was an ignorant response. I thought that it
was a sarcastic response, with Josprung feeding what he thought was a
troll by the original poster for people responding that it must be because
of steroids.

If this is the case, my apologies. I'm not that familiar with
Josprung as a poster. If his post was meant tongue in cheek, just
assume I posted my response next to Maynard in the tree.

Thanks. That is indeed how I meant it.
I tend to forget that sarcasm doesn't always come thru like it should.
