Wasn't it to have 85 wins? With 4 games left, we need 2 more wins to reach
his goal for this year. I remember about a month ago people were saying it
wasn't gonna happen. It may not yet happen, but we're darn close, and
that's something. Where are they nay-sayers now?

I don't remember that. And given the setup of the team, JP is the boss. He
said 85 wins was realistic for the team, and we're going to get that. Can't
say he isn't being a truthful GM.

Actually, Tosca was setting 15 wins a month as a monthly goal, not a
season goal iirc. That, winning or getting a split of every series, 4
wins each week, etc. Namely as a target for the players to shoot for
regularly which, if always met, would guarantee an amazing season.
Much like telling someone to try to go 1 for 3 each game rather than
telling them to try for a 333 average.

I follow similar goals when driving somewhere or doing something. For
example, I want to reach a certain point at the end of each hour while
driving. IF I always reach the goal then I'll be at my endpoint far
quicker than I hoped for originally. I won't always reach the goal
(traffic, weather, etc.) but having it allows for little successes
while still shooting for the overall goal.
