He didn't speak English when he first got here, but I'm pretty sure
Taguchi now speaks English almost as well as Jose Oquendo. >> Stay informed about: JIM EDMONDS traded to Padres for single-A player |

I'm certainly sorry to see Edmonds finish his career elsewhere.
Certainly he peaked in 2004 but his clubhouse presence and his
mentoring of the rest of the outfiled will leave a big hole.
Ankiel has 2 months of big year outfield and Duncan plays as if he has
2 months of experience.
Whoever fills the CF spot will be third man on the totem pole...

Looking at the depth chart on the Cardinals' website, it lists Schumaker at
the top.

Jeanne's not going anywhere, and I don't even have to ask her to know
that. The thing about these Usenet groups that Jeanne understands and
you never have, Roy, is that, over time, they become more about
community than about the team itself.
Maybe that's why we embrace Jeanne as a member of this group, and why
we all think that you're a tool, Roy.

Why pay Taguichi $2 million to do what Skip Shumaker can do just as
well for $400K? It's that simple. And over the last year or so,
Taguichi's defense has really suffered as well.
