Bah!....that should be considered a "team" win and not given to Izzy. If I
was Mulder I'd be getting pissed right about now......that and I'd be happy
about being a rich major league pitcher.

Does Iffy's game today count as both a blown save and a win or just a win.
I think if it counts just as a win then you should count up every win he had
last year and add it to the blown save number as they never bring him in if
they are losing.

It is both a win and a blown save. Be thankful we don't have Fransico
Cordero.

Suprisingly this guy has good "stats"....I was amazed when I really looked
into his stats compared to other closers in the league, he is very much in
the upper middle of the pack but I just cannot see it. This guy is horrid
I would rather see a bullpen by committy "or" give the job to
Wainwright.....that guy has some really nasty stuff.

.....and I swear if that buttwipe doesn't stop throwing that cutter that he's
so proud of!

Isringhausen is not a bad pitcher. He's a good closer but not a SEVEN
MILLION dollar closer!

That has been my point all along with this guy.

He walks too many batters to be a GREAT closer. Also, his strikeout to walk
ratio is far below what a closer should have.

Wins and Losses are very poor indicators of pitching prowess since it has
much more to with TIMING (i.e. *when* your team scores the runs) and LUCK
(i.e. you happen to be pitching on a day when your teammates decide to score
a ton of runs).

Isringhausen's win is an example of TIMING. He just happened to be the
pitcher-of-record when the winning run scored. That's about the extent of
his "contribution" to the effort.
