Randy Johnson whined, created a circus and acted like a little brat but
could not get what he wanted. He is still with AZ

Nomar, who was very quiet and did not make much of a fuss in the media and
handled himself with class, he got traded. Even if he was unhappy he did not
create a sideshow. THATS CALLED CLASS. I hope your taking notes Randy

Just how did he do that? By refusing to talk to the media who created
the mess in the first place?

Randy got exactly what he wanted. He wanted to play for the D'Backs if
the Yankees could not work anything out. They couldn't. He is still
with AZ.

Randy was (and remains) frustrated not with being in Arizona, but with
losing. Nearing 41, he naturally realizes that his days as a professional
athlete may well be very short, and the window for winning is getting
smaller all the time. To his credit, not his detriment, he is speaking
openly and honestly with the media and the public about that frustration.
(Perhaps if he were to more vocally vent that frustration in exhorting his
teammates to stop acting like they're playing for Chico's Bail Bonds,
though, he might find that window cracking open a bit further.)

Loathe though I am to speak ill of a former schoolmate (Go Bosco Braves!),
Nomar was hardly a "class" act in his dealings after nearly being traded in
January. Or does spending two months milking an Achilles "injury" that
typically impinges on an athlete's mobility for no more than a week qualify
as "class"? Nomar is an introvert. That's certainly his right. But to
misread his introvert's passive-aggressiveness as anything other than what
it is does no justice either to Garciaparra or to anyone to whom he is being
compared.

These days with technology and highly trained doctors on staff, you can not
fake an injury like that. I think both of us might read too much and believe
too many of these sports writers Smile

I totally agree on Randy Johnson"s prima dona
attitude...His pitching will help the team but his
aloof attitude toward his team mates and even the Umpires is
unforgiveable...God help him if he ever loses his pitching ability in
the next 2 years, then he's got nuttin' but a rotten attitude
These new babybacks need some of the old timers to help them and give
them encouragement...Randy sits off by himself looking mean and
UGLY!!!!!
