As expected, the historically superior American League
were 10-4 against the children of false gods of the
historically inferior National League yesterday.

The significant games were:
The Pride of Chicago by 6-2 over the LA Dodgers
The Red Sox needed a 4 run 8th inning to beat the D'Backs
The LA Angels whooped on the Washingto Nats by a score of 8-3.
The Red Sox and the Angels now lead the AL with 48 wins.

Two important NL wins were:
The Cardinals beat the Tigers in their quest to win the
booby prize - the NL Central.
The Pirates beat Darth Vader's Over-The-Hill Gang and
increased the probability that the overpaid Bronx
BS'ers will be playing in golf tournaments as soon as
the season ends.

The Pride of Chicago's next tough opponent will be the
LA Angels on the Fourth of July.

Dick

These poor little White Sox fans seem to have lost all grip on
reality.

I'm starting to feel sorry for them.

Fan. Singular.

This is an example of a logical fallacy (see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Converse_accident).

Or do they teach logic on the North side of Chicago?

The statement applies to more than just this single fan. It actually
responds to all of the posts that have been made since the sox
humiliating defeat by the far superior Chicago Cubs.

When attempting to boast about AL superiority, Dr Crawdad failed to
mention that the struggling, injury-riddled St Louis Cardinals had no
trouble winning their series against the Boston Red Sox (the only AL
team of any note in the last decade). His mind refused to accept it,
so he blocked the information out.

A break with reality.

In this thread, the OP stated (and I quote): "The Pride of Chicago's
next tough opponent will be the
LA Angels on the Fourth of July." He has obviously overlooked the fact
that the Sox must lose another three game series to the overpowering
Chicago Cubs first. His mind refuses to accept, so he blocked the
information out.

A break with reality.

So, to summarize:

Fans. Plural.

My logic is sound....unless your mind refuses to accept it, that is.

13 games vs. the AL and Cubbie pitchers have allowed 81 runs or 6.23
runs per game. This supports what I've been saying about the Cubbies,
very good offense but suspect pitching.

The NL is a joke. The 9th or 10th best team in the AL could easily be
the champion in the NL.
But what would it mean to win in AA?
Winning a title in the NL is like finishing 50th in the Miss America
contest.

The powerful Cubs just give an idea of how weak the NL is. Zambrano is
a legitimate top of the rotation guy when healthy. But Lilly and
Dempster are journey level guys at best.

The Cubbies get up for the games versus the Sox but their pitching has
been exposed as weak against the AL.

Devil Rays
Red Sox
Angels
Oakland
Twins
White Sox
Yankees

All these teams IMHO would dominate in the NL and all have winning
records vs. the NL this season.

That's true. However, as what happened in '06 when the Cardinals beat
the Tigers in the WS (or perhaps the Tigers beat themselves), the NL
could possibly win but I'd doubt it.

As you pointed out the Tigers beat themselves in that series. They
just froze.
