Cubs' website states that Hill was optioned to Iowa. I was looking forward
to seeing this guy pitch some more.

Maybe they're going to give Borowski another look this week. The
homer he gave up to Carlos Lee was a 91 mph fastball, and he looked
fine in Friday's game against the Sox. He might have had too short a
rehab stay in Iowa.

The thing is that sending down (yuck) Wilson to activate Prior would be
idiotic. The Cubs are already a position player short on the Roster.
Wilson is a worthless piece of trash. But he's a position playing
worthless piece of trash. Wilson should be released and Cendeno
recalled. (And Remlinger should be released and Kelton recalled).

If it were me, Cendeno would be playing six out of seven days a week at
shortstop.

I don't think you call up Cedeno unless you are going to play him every day.
If you release Wilson and called up Cedeno, how much would Dusty get him on
the field? At age 22, you don't want to see him twiddling his thumbs every
day at the end of the bench.

I agree, I'd like to see Cedeno play every day and see Nomar let go as a
free agent this next off season. If they bring him up this year he'll be
benched when Nomar returns to the lineup.

The E. Wilson pickup was retarded. I guess they just wanted someone...
something... anything... to fill in on the bench until Nomar gets back, but
I think they could have done a *little* better than that. He can't be sent
down to AAA, either, can he? He already has his 3 years in in the bigs and
would have to agree to it. And do we really want him pawned off on our
already struggling AAA team, anyway? Just cut him loose. Put Mitre in as a
position player or pinch hitter if you need to for god's sake. Who cares,
he has to do better than Wilson.

So send him back down if and when Nomar is ready to play. THE CUBS
HAVE ALREADY BURNED THE OPTION FOR THIS YEAR they do not get any
"benefits" by leaving him down in Iowa. (As opposed to having never
called him up this season...)

There is a friend in Des Moines that says Cedeno is the best infielder
I-Cubs have had ever! The ball shoots off his bat and he can go long. He
keeps telling me he keeps hearing that the Cubs are going to recall him
soon.
