Wow. The Rockies have packed in fans to Mile High Stadium and then
Coors Field since the day they played their first game. And someone
tries to bust them for not posting on the net??? Really??? Don't the
Rockies also draw fans from across state lines? Sports fans in Denver
are pretty damm good fans. They support ALL their teams, Rockies,
Broncos, Avalanche, Nuggets, you name it. And the Rockies just might
bring home a World Series trophy, to go with Super Bowl trophies, and
a Stanley Cup. Congratulations to the Rockies and their fans. You
deserve this. Maybe if someone came up with a "World Usenet Title"
maybe someone would give a rats ass about the number of posts here.
Hell, I don't think anyone in Denver will give a damm about this post
of mine. They are too busy celebrating. Congragulations to Rockies and
their fans from a Padres fan. Remember us? The team you ran over,
before you ran over the Phillies and Diamondbacks?

i'M RETIRED AND IN il. but spent most of my life in Colorado and I'm sky
high over them Rockies. I hope their hitting picks up for The Worls
Series.

That is 2 Stanley Cups (1996 and 2001) .

Denver is, bar none, the best sports city per capita in the country. Nobody
supports their major pro teams in all 4 sports like Denver does, period.
Not sure why, but we are just sports crazy here. To be fair, the Rockies
set every MLB attendance record when they came into the league because they
played in a huge baseball stadium and fans were longing for MLB for so long.
Their attendance has fallen off over the past several years because of the
lack of a competitive team. But now they are back. With a vengeance. Nice
to see. Although baseball still lags as a distant 4th major sport in my
book in terms of excitement. This little run has been amazing, however.

Nice post Padre fan. I know SD isn't as sports crazy as Denver is, but it
sure would be a nice place to live. Been there many times. And man did the
Chargers ever put a whooping on our Broncos.

Everyone here has taken their computers down to the pawn shops to get those
big bucks for the WS tickets!

One more theory ... and this has a big 'lol' for anyone from Boston ...

I think usenet has a law of conservation of posts ... ie one post has to
expire before another can go on line ... and the BoSox folks are just eatin'
all the bandwidth... have ya looked at 'alt.sports.baseball.bos-redsox'?
.... the 'post meter' is just spinnin' there ...
