Is there anyone who's flakier than Hennessey? It seems like he alternates
really good starts with really disastrous starts.
Look at the game-by-game: his first two starts were average, then he has
an excellent start (admittedly against the RoadRockies), gets bombed in
two starts, comes back and shuts down the best lineup in the league,
pitches a great game vs. the Dodgers, then gets absolutely killed by the
Marlins, comes back and beats the Brewers single-handedly, pitches
another good game against the RoadRockies, and then gets killed again
today. After those first two starts, he hasn't had a single average start
since then. Weird.
(BP ranks him as the 6th flakiest pitcher in the majors with at least 50
IP, behind Rodrigo Lopez, Ryan Drese, Dontrelle Willis, Tomokazu Ohka, and
Carlos Zambrano. I'm actually surprised to see Willis and Zambrano that
high on the list.)

I think I saw some stats about Willis on ESPN, which showed he had a
great career pre-All-Star W-L record and a horrible post-All-Star W-L
record. As for Hennessey, he reminds me of Lowry sometimes, but of
course not as extreme. >> Stay informed about: What's up with Hennessey? |

I'd just like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for responding to
this post. When I opened up the newsgroup, I saw 16 threads. Fourteen were
about you-know-what, one was that bizarre crossposted troll about the Red
Sox, and then this thread was the lone representative of actual baseball
talk.

But what the hell is up with KNBR and Felipe? Don't you think everybody
involved is overreacting just a tad?

Since the Giants are at the center of you-know-what, it's very relevant to
this newsgroup.

You're very welcome. If you didn't mention it, I wouldn't even realize
it was the only baseball thread at the time. What I did realize,
though, was that everybody felt like their posts were important enough
to start a new thread, even though everybody's essentially talking about
the same thing. Thus we have, as you said, 14 or so different threads
about the same topic. >> Stay informed about: What's up with Hennessey? |

I'm not saying it has no right to be here; I'm just saying that it's
something I have no interest in reading about or discussing any further.
