I'm trying to find a Jason Varitek rookie card as a Christmas present for my
nephew. Varitek came over from Seattle with Derek Lowe in the infamous
Heathcliff Slocum trade and played one game in 1997. 98 was probably
considered his rookie year when he played in 86 games.
When I search for his rookie card I keep coming up with a 1992 card when he
was on Team USA and attending Georgia Tech, but I can't seem to find a MLB
rookie card. Can anyone tell me what is considered his rookie year and
where I can purchase a card for that season.
