1. I believe Johnson was not on the DL at the time the
trade was suggested, though I may be wrong about that.
2. This is probably true, whether or not the previous
line was true. (And the more I think about it, if you
were to select a random day from the professional career
of Nick Johnson, including both time in the minors and
majors, the odds might be fairly decent that he would
not pass a physical. He's a good player when healthy,
but he's had a lot of bad luck with injuries).
