OK, Bonderman once again gave up runs in the first. Fortunately it
was only 2 and the Tigers were able to whittle away at Sabathia until
they tied it up. Bonderman settled down and got things working the
way Jeremey usually does.

Bats woke up against Cleveland's bullpen, which appears to be worse
than the Tiger's pen. Jones provided a little excitement in the 10th
but still got the job done. I think he was rusty. Rodney did a good
job after giving up a lead off double in the 9th but looks a bit
shakey out there. Not surprising since he's only pitched in a little
over 33 innings in the majors so far this season. Still, it is good to
see him there and he's not melting under the pressure like he used to.
Now if we could only get Zumaya (who had a good outing in Toledo),
Rogers and Miller back, I'd feel a whole lot better.

Tonight's (8/15) game, however, looks like it could be one we give
back to the Indians. I certainly hope not but we've got a AA pitcher
making his major leage debut going up against Fausto Carmona and his
13-7, 3.26 ERA. Against Detroit this season he is 1-0 and 1 no
decision. In the no decision he gave up 10 hits and 5 runs. That
game was in Cleveland and Detroit lost 12-11.

Jair Jurrjens will be starting for the Tigers tonight He's been in
the Tigers minor league system for the past two seasons. In case you
are wondering he was born Jan. 29, 1986 in Willemstad, Curacao,
Mexico. With the Erie Sea Wolves this season, he is 7-5 with a 3.20
ERA in 19 games. He has a WHIP of 1.27. If he pitches as well as
Lopez did in a relief appearance or Tata did in his first start, then
the Tigers just may have a good chance tonight. I'll be pulling for
the youngster.

Regards,

??????
IIRC, he pitched one inning, and struck out three.

out in Grandyland.

I had to wait a while to find the catch on the internet, but if you
listened to the cleveland broadcast you could feel the broadcast booth
implode. that catch was a turn around the game. AND there was no loafing
over to the ball, then laying down for ESPN highlights

Am I Good Or What? - Following is a post I made March 3rd of this year. "With the current rotation, this team will lose 120 games. We'll wish they were as good as last season come September. Not pessimism, just reality." "One Man's Fool"..

How good can we be? - This kind of analysis makes no accounting for injuries, because they can't be predicted, but here's how I see it: 1. Maggs replacing Higginson in right field and taking over cleanup: Add 8 wins 2. Dmitri (presumably) does not miss two months on the DL:....

not looking good - The MFYs are up by a whopping five games in the loss column. What this means is that, if the MFYs were to split their reaming 18 games, the Tigers can lose no more than 4, just to tie for the wild card. -- I never read email at the Yahoo address...

good game! - tip o' the hat. - nate, a bosox & tigers fan

good grief!!! - inge is a power hitter now!? BLESS YOU BOYS!!!! ../muk p.s. i think DL (or whoever said that) was onto something with the whole squatting thing messing up his swing :)
