"Tests show Braves pitcher Tom Glavine has no ligament damage in his left
elbow, leaving open the possibility he could return next season."

hmm...is that a good thing? don't get me wrong, i don't wish the guy ill,
but i wonder how good it is for the braves.

How many starting pitchers to the Braves project to have available next
season from their current crop? I have been of a mind to say good-bye to
Glavine and Smoltz to free up their $ for new pitchers. But the Braves have
so many needs for next year, and even though they will have a lot of cash, I
don't see a lot of starting pitching on the FA market. Maybe we need to try
to carry Glavine again next season after all. He might not be too
expensive. Then the Braves might need to add only two new starting pitchers
instead of three. (They also need a power hitting OF, and I wish they could
pick up a real starting second baseman.)
