I hate the fact that such an important series for both teams comes up
against the All Star break.

Schmidt is pitching. Bad news for D backs.

His career record against DBacks is not that great. Might be a good
game..I'll be there

Very, very bad news.

Dessens and Good =aren't= pitching. =GOOD= news for DBacks.

And, unfortunately for the Giants, they're running smack into a very healthy
and a very focused trio of Miguel Batista (7th in NL ERA), Curt Schilling
(last year's runner-up in Cy Young balloting; yeah, I know he's not
"official" yet) and your National League ERA leader and Most Egregious
All-Star Snub, Brandon "Who The Fuck Is Dontrelle Willis?" Webb.

Boy, oh boy.

The giants smacked Miguel down about 6 spots in the ERA list. Smile

Schilling wasn't pitching well before he got hurt. What's to make anybody
think he'll suddenly be the old Curt again?

Admittedly, Schmidt has had two great starts against the D-Backs this
year, but that was before anybody on the team was hitting reasonably well.
Batista did have a bad start against the Gints earlier this year, but if
you compare ERAs by Schmidt against the D-Backs and by Batista against the
Giants over the last three seasons, you'll see Batista (3.29) beats
Schmidt (4.04).

Schilling pitches on Saturday against Jerome Williams, which is tough to
gauge. Williams has been lights-out, but it's difficult to predict how
Schilling will do in his first game back. On Sunday, it's Jim Brower
(who?) against Brandon Webb. I suspect we'll see some good pitching this
weekend.

So Schhmidt had the D backs for lunch and Batista gets roasted. So much for
stats, eh?

What is it now? Very Happy
