Did the Twins keep their receipt for Delmon Young?

Did the Twins keep their receipt for Delmon Young?

---------------------------------------

I'm going to guess there are no tradebacks.

However, Harris for Bartlett is looking good. Bartlett has been awful this
season.

Yeah, I saw that...he had a no-no going through the 6th.

His season numbers are pretty decent so far, 6-4 with an
ERA of 3.76 and a WHIP of 1.21.

Coulda-Woulda-Shoulda...

Did the Twins keep their receipt for Delmon Young?

Yes....but there would most likely be a 20% restocking charge.

Actually, from what Hartman was saying the other day, he's the toast
of Tampa. Apparently they love his defense and baserunning.

I was a big Garza backer all along. But one thing worth mentioning ...
we can't even free up a rotation spot for Liriano. Add Garza to the
mix and then what do you have? Don't get me wrong--I want him back.
He'd probably be our best starter right now. But ... at least it was a
position of depth.

AND: many of us were saying at the time that the Twins were going to
have to give up pitching for offense. The Delmon Young deal had some
question marks, but, as I recall, they mostly had to do with his
attitude and maturity. I don't remember there being much question
about his ability. I still have hope for him. I have, however, given
up almost entirely on Louis Rivas.

I hear ya, brink, but at what point are you won over to the fact that
they aren't replacement level players? That somehow Casilla, Buscher,
Harris, et al, are actually good players? A month of having a winning
record? Six weeks? I'm going to say that if the Twins are in the hunt
(in first or within 4 or 5 games) on August 15th that they should be
taken as real. That would be about 2 months since this current streak
started.

Is everyone aware that the Twins are #3 in the AL in runs scored? Yep,
right behind Texas and Boston. They are #9 in the AL in ERA. So the
idea of giving up defense for offense is apparently working.

Maybe both ... though I should clarify that it was Chad, not Sid. And
as for Tampa, they're 17 games over, so I suspect every Ray is the
toast of the town.
